Had my A4 for just over a year now. Have been actively renewing and doing general maintenance to make sure that when I wanted up the power a bit it was going to be a reliable base.
Now I've been researching recaps for a while and have decided on APR for two reasons, switchable maps and the...
Where to get one?
I've priced one up at audi and they want £100.
I've found a pattern part replacement online for £45 but not sure of the quality.
There's a used one on eBay for £25 but I may as well keep mine on than buy a used one.
Any other suggestions where I could find an oem...
1 Fault Found:
18047 - Accelerator Position Sensor 1/2 (G79/G185): Implausible Signal
P1639 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
Symptoms are ESP and EPC lights on dashboard and car in limp mode. Leaving car overnight renders the car back to normal the next day.
Seemed to only...
Hi,
Pulled my MAF sensor at the weekend with the intention of giving it a clean. My sensor seems to be missing a part, looks like it's supposed to have some external wire and a resistor.
Mine looks like this
Should it actually look like this???
I just assumed that i must have knocked...
Just swapped out my original DVD valve for a 710N. I figured at over 100k miles it was worth doing. Turbo spools up quicker and it holds the boost better so I'm assuming the old one must have been leaking.
What I didn't expect was the stock DVD valve to be a 710p.
Anyone thinking of changing their coolant temp sensor. It's much easier to get to it if you remove the vacuum / breather lines. You'll also probably find the breather pipes have a certain amount of gunge in them which you can clean out at the same time.
As title I'm getting both the EPC and ESP lights on along with limp mode. Lights clear after ignition off but soon come back on.
Any ideas or experience with this?
I can't even scan for faults as my laptop hard drive has fried itself. Any one in Teesside like to give me a hand?
I'll do my best to explain what is happening. Upon turning the key in the ignition i get a warning beep and displayed in the DIS is the check bulb sign and it says drivers rear light. This all happened first time in the dark on wednesday.
So i get out of the car to double check which light is...
Right chaps,
When I get my wheels done graphite I'm also going to get my calipers done. Question is though, what colour??
I was all set on gloss red but am recently turning to gold metallic.
But what do you think? Red, gold, black or something else?
The car is akoya silver if that helps.
Hi all,
My grill badge is looking a little tired. WOndering if i can just buy any quattro grill badge off ebay or will i need to get one specific to the A4 B6?
You know the silver trim that sits on the avant boot. The part that sits right at the top of the bumper? Well the chrome pn mine was starting to bubble and lift so I've popped the trim off and have pealed the chrome off.
Originally I was going to get it wrapped black the same as my front...
I pulled and pulled and nothing gave. Well something did but it was inside the tailgate lol. So two questions,
1. How the frig do you get the wiper off?
2. How do I get inside the tailgate so I can reattach the wiper motor?
All help and advice appreciated
Duffy
So it looks like my oil pressure issue due to the sludge has caused some additional problems, most likely with the turbo. The car is noticably down on power now so at present am assuming that the turbo bearings have been damaged due to lack of oil for the short time the oil pressure was down...
There i was tootling along the M62, well not exactly tootling i was certainly doing sum, and the red oil can warning appears on the Dis with oil pressure written there for good measure.
Oh fiddlesticks says I, oil pickup pipe shagged. So I pull of the motorway quick sharp and turn the car off...
