Just had a look through VCDS with a friend, couldnt see that option anywhere. The only thing we could do was change it from US to Scandinavia, which also has done nothing to the sidelights. Maybe it just cannot be done on mine (58 plate facelift model).

So far ive used WD-40 on the part you describe, it moves a bit better now but still not perfect, would silicone lubricant be better? Id rather not have to take the whole glovebox out if i can help it... Not sure how im going to get the hinge to stay together, super glue doesnt seem to be...

Thats an awesome idea, thanks! i got some loctite super glue, its a pretty poor design with so many people having trouble... at least the right hand side is still attached i guess.

Bump... Ive done exactly the same thing, snapped in the same place... I took the side panel off and its rediculously stiff, requires alot of pulling to move, stress on the hinge must have been snapping it over time and now its completely broken off. Can anyone tell me if i need a new damper...

I ordered a new manual for my S3 from cardiff audi, been waiting well over a month now, just for a book which they should have loads of... But in fairness to them, they did supply new spring retainer clips very quickly, the guy even personally delivered them which i thought was great service
