Hibiscus Red TQS - New Car, New Project, cars been here before though.

No. I’m the ‘Norfolk guy’ who the chap you bought if off bought from me. He didn’t have it long then? Had a few b5’s so got a soft spot for them - found them reliable well built cars. Hibiscus red a great colour and best one in the TQS line up imo. Well I hope it treats you as well as it did...

Hibiscus Red TQS - New Car, New Project, cars been here before though.

****** hell!!!! You’ve spent some time and money on that car since I sold it several months ago. Great to see its being well cared for. I was genuinely gutted when I sold it but it was unfair to let it fester on the drive not being used due to working from home. Strong work fella...

    Clutch Question

Evening chaps, It’s been a while. My TQS is still ticking along nicely but the time has come to replace the clutch and possibly the DMF. I’ve been quoted £570 for a LUK 3 piece clutch kit and DMF - parts only. Add in labour and it’s going to cost me £800+ [emoji30]. Two part question; 1. Can...

    New TQS Owner & Project

Yeah, 312mm discs, Mk1 TT carriers or carriers from 8P S3 and TQS calipers. But like I said I’m sure calipers from other models were shared with the TQS - Aragorn is all ‘gen’d’ up on this. Oh, you’ll also need new brake hoses as the ones you have currently fitted aren’t compatible with TQS...

    New TQS Owner & Project

In addition to all the parts listed above you’ll also need the calipers from a TQS as well. I’m sure they’ll be another VAG platform you could utilise the calipers from - Mk1 TT or equivalent aged A6. Iirc the AFN 1.9TDi calipers might work but not 100%. A decent set of pads can make a lot of...

    A4 avant alloys??

IMO there’s not that many wheels that look at home on the b5 in addition to the stock options. BBS CH’s look alright but seem to make an appearance on pretty much every VAG model in existence so quite common. Same can be said for BBS LM’s. Porsche wheels could be an option, again fairly common...

Evening chaps, Another ‘where’s this located’ question - where abouts is the Crankcase pressure breather valve located? Cheers [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    1.8t apu need more power

For the effects of the upgrades you mention above to have maximum benefit I'd say yes. Regarding the IC you'll probs have to go down the custom route as most 'off the shelf' units take a bit of hacking to fit so I'm told. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    1.8t apu need more power

Here's a tip - search on eBay for either BEX engine or A4 B6 Breaking, find one with the 1.8t engine and ask if the turbo is still available - they are out there trust me..... had 3 positive hits in the last 2 weeks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    1.8t apu need more power

Shame but not surprised. Would the BEX turbo not suffice? Appreciating it falls below your power target but will only cost £150-200 for the turbo and is a pretty straight forward install. To be spending more on the turbo than the car is worth, in my mind, is bonkers. £1500 as quoted above...

    New TQS Owner & Project

Evening folks, Can anyone advise how to remove the drivers side seat belt? Since I bought the car the seat belt has always been a little reluctant to coil back into its stowage and quite often just gathers by the bottom of the door - ****** annoying [emoji34] I though I'd inspect the belt...

    1.8t apu need more power

Not 100% sure tbh, I'd image a TQS one would fit? The S & RS, I suspect would also fit but you'll pay a premium for it. Why not have the original reupholstered? I thinking of having mine done in dark grey alcantara with the gear knob gaiter to match. Cost around £200. Sent from my iPhone using...

I don't like the RS4 reps - came when I bought the car. I've since sourced a full set of original TQS Bolero wheels - just need a refurb ready for next summer. I've seen a few b5's running Porsche wheels - look alright to be fair. What coilovers have you gone for? I'm thinking of going down the...

    New TQS Owner & Project

Cool. I really like the stock TQS seats - 1/2 leather and cloth. I might look into having the leather sections (bolsters) changed for alcantara in the future. Yeah the 312mm upgrade is a great OEM+ mod and as you say improves braking performance. Would love to try and fit some Bentley...

    1.8t apu need more power

When I looked into this a few months back I found 1 on eBay and that's it - hard to find yes. Most likely brand new or could you not have your existing turbo modified to the BEX spec turbo? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New TQS Owner & Project

I think that's the route I'd also take mainly for ease and power limit. 230bhp, imo, is plenty enough and coupled with a good suspension set up it would be a joy to drive. If I were in pursuit of 300bhp+ or just outright power I'd start with then S4. There's a red b5 RS4 Avant in my village -...
