Just had by gearbox serviced this week @ Votex. They used the genuine ZF service pack, made a big difference on my car, probably one of those things which gradually deteriorates over time, so the comparison to before and after makes the £400+ bill actually feel like good value!
Will look forward to seeing the dyno sheet! Just found out that he is now able to do some tweaking to the ZF box, so will be trying to get in to get a TCU map - recently had the oil & filters changed in the gearbox, so this should hopefully get it back to OEM+ !
Your money & choice, I have nothing to say good or bad about More BHP, but bear in mind, Rick @ Unicorn in Stockport would do you a live/custom map for your car on their 4WD rollers for sensible money - and I can highly recommend his work
Beat me to it ;)
I have mine, with 74k on the clock in for the fluid, filer, sump gasket and plug replacement this week - lot of money on the parts, but hopefully worth the effort &expense. I dread it when a manufactuer says a gearbox is 'sealed for life'. Even the gearbox manufacturer (ZF)...
Highly recommend Rick @ Unicorn Motorsport in Stockport, he'll do a custom map with Dyno time.
My BiTDi made 362ps and 812nm with standard hardware on his set of very conservative rollers. He leaves all safety features enabled (e.g. exhaust temp sensors) and even has the ability to maintain...
If they are off a B8 chassis car (which I assume the 2009 model will be) then the centre bore will also be 66.56mm vs the 57.1 of the 8P A3 - not a massive issue (set of spigot rings) but the offset may be too aggressive
If you don't take them up - I will probably be interested as I need some...
Personally I cannot rate Event Tyres any higher! Absolutely obsessed with the condition of my alloys on the A5 & A3 i have, and use them at work also, mobile fitting service which will cover all of Gtr Mcr. They even ask you to examine your wheels after the fitting to try and find any defects...
Just fitted a BMC panel filter (after having the Milltek fitted) gain was noticable - not dyno'd admittedly, but pickup / throttle response much improved. OEM filter that was removed was only 10k old and wasn;t blocked - so i was pleasantly surprised with the BMC. (plus got it off ebay new &...
One point that I'd flag (and of which you maybe already aware) is that the centre bore on the A5 / S5 hub is 66.56mm as apposed to the 57.1mm of the A3 8p. I would assume that the hubs would need to be remachined down - or different wheels used (with what is essentially a Merc PCD & centre bore...
Worth keeping an eye out on ebay as there are a few sets of Calito's coming to the market as New Old Stock - I've just bought a set of 5 brand new & unusued for £500 (plus they were the A6 destined ones - so 8 x 18 & a slightly lower 48mm offset :) )
EDIT:
Looks like there's an A6 set...
Sorry for delay!
Main reason for the RSAP for me was the suspend mode that the kit puts the handset in - really saves battery drain. Also I managed to acquire 2 units - one for my A5 (where a spend most of my time) and one for the A3. On each the RSAP adpater gave a different benefit. On the...
Sorry, think I've perhaps phrased my initial post poorly (and do not mean to take thread off topic!!)
My car doesn't have nav - but has the factory bluetooth prep low - and has come with the sharkfin as factory. I'm assuming the sharkfin is the aerial for the phone kit, which as mentioned will...
Mine has the factory bluetooth & has a sharkfin (which I 've just started to untilise now that i have the RSAP adapter fitted). Are the sharkfin's multipurpose in so much as they perform as a GPS antennae as well?
£250 - mainly for parts! Yeah, that is expensive! Would be interesting to know what components you finally get invoiced for & what element is "minimal" extra labour.
