There was a "bulletin" about this at AUK, so they do know about it. Many garages - 5 in fact said they couldn't help (some tried and made it worse) and many said it was "normal".
What ended up happening is the speaker mount in the door was causing leaks. I have no idea how, but the plastic...
Also, for those interested, I had 5 year warranty on car, 7 Audi services.
If you’ve any experience or sold one yourself I’d be interested in feedback.
I’m finding dealers clueless on pricing the BiTDI
Identical car with double mileage but 1 year younger is up At £24k.
Specialist has offered £14k - that’s mates rates too (apparently).
Thinking it’s worth keeping past a certain point as what else do you replace it with at 14k.
You need to ask Audi that question.
For those interested in my car, I have a full spec list when i bought the car and subtracted the cost of the car from the total cost and this is the difference. Those interested can receive a copy.
People always say this, but reluctantly selling my A6 BiTDI and will post pictures shortly as I've only decided to try and sell it. The car doesn't get much use and have three other cars, so it has to go.
I've no idea about price yet as it has £15k of options so difficult to price. Not...
The problem with your white car turned out to be very common on early cars... later down the line, Audi issued a "bulletin" to replace the bose speaker holder made of plastic. The interim solution was indeed silicon. You can bet many cars driven around now have this.
Furthermore, the door seals...
Advice needed...
Thinking of selling my saloon BiTDI and no idea on pricing as cost of options when new was in excess of £18k on S Line spec.
It's a 2013 model with all options except Bose and comfort seats. From HUD, to matrix LED, Sports Diff, ACC, lane assist, top view camera, interior led...
I can shed some light (if it's not too late)...
The Black edition features are all selectable options as standard - just think of the black edition as a more economical grouped set of options.
I have an S-Line with all Black edition options selected bar the Bose and gloss black chrome. I don't...
Just had this fixed... and it caused extensive hidden damage.
The water was leaking through the speaker mount in the door, causing electrics to malfunction, needing a new electric window modules, and the sound proofing had rotted with water.
The solution did involve replacing the seals as...
From memory... it is not the bumper itself, but yes, there is additional trim piece that needs changing. I think its the black plastic piece you see when you open the boot lid.
Yup, rarely rev it out unless manual.
was talking to OP in terms of his non bitdi. It's basically the same engine with single turbo. So high revs is where the mechanical sound comes out more and similar to bitdi.
V10 or 12 are much smoother sounding.
I cannot believe the bitdi is anywhere close to sounding like anything other than a more interesting diesel sound which is what confuses people.
When you get the bitdi into higher revs it sounds more mechanical (because it is) like a v6 and the V8 burble...
It is an unusual sound rather than enjoyable.
V6 trying to mimic a V8 but still diesel sounding.
To someone who's only ever had diesel cars it might sound interesting.
A lot has been posted on other forums on this and wanted to ask what others experience has been....
Drivers door has lots of water trapped on the sill after rain. Audi UK warranty replaced all seals to fix it, but it didn't fix it at all. No difference.
Garage that made diagnosis and work, say...
