Anyone know where to find the colour code for the interior plastic trim, on the data sticker, or on a piece of trim?
and...........anyone know where to locate the colour code for the plastic trim on the centre armrest?
(there's an armrest on a A3 at a scrap yard, but not sure if it's the...
Rear washer jet packed up about 3 days ago -
- pipe has not detached at the wiper motor and no leakage at joint
- both pipes (for front and rear) still connected to pump at resevoir
- with pipe detached from wiper motor and pressing stalk to pump water, slight air bubbles form out of the...
As above, when I change the volume whilst using CD mode, or change from CD to Radio mode, you can hear 'blips'
only does it when in CD mode!
other odd thing is that you can turn the up the volume louder when using radio, compared to when using CD's - at a ceratin point the sounds just...
As above, the dash on my A3 is showing 'FUSE' above in place of where the trip display usually is (right hand side above the mileage reading).
Anybody else had this and know which fuse to replace - checked the obvious ones in the fuse box (11, 15, 41 which all relate to dash etc but all fuses...
suspect my diff may be screwed - there are plenty of 02J boxes around but what I need to know is are ALL diffs the same i.e. will an 02J box fitted to a 1.8 engine A3 fit my TDI (110)??? if it does, then I plan to cannibalise 2 boxes in to one.
Fitted a new (to me!) Concert HU today and it won't link to the CD changer in the back. The old one worked fine.
The changer is a sony unit, so running a differant BUS lead and adaptor - checked this lead and all looks ok.
Ruled out the HU as I tried another Concert HU and that has the...

had strange rumbling/resonating noise coming from the front end for about a month end now
- only does it when your foot is off the accelerator and the car is in gear
- putting your foot on the accelerator/taking the car out of gear/depressing clutch pedal ALL stop the noise
having engine...
bought this in error to fix the problem of no speedo (but it wasn't the sender!) - hence have a spare speed sender (2000 pre-facelift TDI 110) - not sure if it fits other models, although can obvioulsy supply a part code.
the part is as new - contact me if interested.
try replacing the 2 selector levers, which sit on top of the gear box, and operate the selector shaft. one looks almost like a triangular bracket and the other like a swinging weight. prpblems seems to be that a plastic bush between the two wears/breaks up leading to the gears feeling really...
just to recap - about 3 weeks ago, suddenly the speedo and trip counters stopped working, plus fuel gauge became erratic. In summary, 2 tests done on the dash > dash pod is 100%, and diagnostic said speed sender.
just replaced the speed sender unit this morning > no joy. ok, so you may...
this is happening more and more - you either can't get the stick into reverse OR you think you have (and the parkings sensors bleep > triggered by the reversing switch) but the car goes forward!
also having problems with 4th.....
problem is also random plus when it does play-up there is no...
Just lately gear shifts have become a bit stiff or even impossible on my A3 (5speed/TDI).
Sometimes it is impossible to get reverse, and going between 3rd and 4th can be a real problem. There's no grinding noise and the problem can be sporadic.
Any ideas of a fix?
