    Rear diff whine

Thanks for the replies. The tyres are all brand new Falkens and they’re the same all round. I think it’s probably worth getting it looked at and see if it’s definitely the diff. The only gen 2 ones on eBay I’ve seen are from Lithuania, all seem to be gen 4 on there for some reason which is a pain.

    Rear diff whine

Morning guys, Very long time since I was around these forums! So I’m a motor trader and I’ve recently picked up a 2008 Audi S3 108k. Drove it properly over the weekend, have to say the chassis is a huge improvement on the 8L! Anyway I’ve noticed a whine coming from the rear diff at around 80...

    Methanol

lol so obviously people have differing opinions on this, fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinion. However instead of spit balling scenarios and differing opinions I decided to actually ask the people that deal with RTC’s on their opinion on this. Now bare in mind they’re not car...

    Methanol

Again, those items are what you’d consider household or everyday items that you’d expect could be there, and in smaller quantities. Now if you had litres of nail polish remover in a container in your boot, that’s slightly different isn’t it? Also the fact you can make bombs with it lol I could...

    Methanol

Knowing two serving firefighters I would surprisingly expect both would be aware a car may have petrol in it and may have something like a puncture repair cannister in the boot, but neither would ever think of a bottle containing meth in the boot of a hatchback. It’s not exactly something that...

    Methanol

Out of curiosity, how many of you that run meth have a warning sticker in the boot or something similar? I’m just wondering if you have a collision and you’re injured and taken away or unconscious etc, how will the fire service know you’ve got a meth tank in the boot or in the spare wheel well...

Show Me Your Imola Yellow S3's!!

The cooper S are fun cars, very go kart like, especially the R53. As long as you’re aware they can become money pits then go for it. The R57 is obviously more modern inside and out, the engine is more economical. The R53 is more raw feeling, the supercharger sounds ace especially with a smaller...

Show Me Your Imola Yellow S3's!!

I didn’t think you were doubting lol, I read what you wrote as all cars have common faults as though such potentially expensive faults are common. Which would mean we all need to factor in engine failure when we buy cars

Yeah but not all cars have a long array of very expensive repairs in relation to the cost of the vehicle. The cooper s engine is basically a sieve they’re really that bad for oil leaks. The R57 psa engine is renowned for its costly problems. Some cars have much bigger issues than others. Such as...

How many Dolphin grey Audi S3 8L were made

I think you’ll really struggle to get a number. Unless there’s an online database with such information but not that I’m aware of. Pretty sure you can find production numbers but in what colours maybe a stretch unfortunately.

Not any experience of just cooper’s in r53/r57 but cooper s’ I do, particularly r53. What I will say is if you’re hoping to have a car that is completely reliable then I would caution on cooper s’. R53 have quite a lot of issues from the 1.6 supercharged engine which is actually a Chrysler...

    Secondary cat delete

Yep I know TT sports, I live very close, they have some very nice cars there :). I don’t actually own an rs3 or a TTRS but I’m considering a TTRS as my next car. I did own a 420 bhp s3 8L and I miss the power and the 4wd so I’m looking at getting back into big power Audi’s at some point in the...

    Secondary cat delete

How much bhp does the secondary cat delete free up on mapped cars? I can’t seem to find rough numbers but that they release some more noise and minimal gains but what’s minimal? 5bhp? 15 bhp?
