    Timing varies at idle FSI AWA.

    Just wonder why my timing would constantly vary whilst idling, I do have the odd misfire on cylinder 3 using VCDS Lite. The timing on VCDS varies 1 to 6 degrees BTDC and sometimes 2 or 3 degrees ATDC then suddenly jumps to 12 BTDC for a while, at 12 degree there is no misfire logging on VCDS...

    Camshaft oil control rings snapped

    Just found out the camshaft oil control rings are broken inside the timing chain cover. TPS quote £344 + vat for the complete cover, as the rings aren't sold separately. The rings look just like small piston rings, surely there must be an alternative to buying the cover just for the rings.
