well if the pricing of the new Golf here in Australia is any indication of where the RS3 might be, the pricing will be quite ridiculous.
The A45s was already significantly more expensive than the old RS3, so assume Audi will price it at least in the ballpark of that.
looks good to me, I think some of the proportions start to make sense on the RS. It’s like they started with the RS design and worked backwards to the S3 and A3.
I wasn’t having a go at the A3 specifically but it does seem to be a growing trend. Have watched plenty of POV videos where the disco lights inside the car make it harder to see what’s going on outside the car.
Which probably makes sense when sitting directly in front of it, but sitting off to the side, in the dark and on the move, it’s a terrible design idea.
In some launch videos I’ve seen they don’t seem to hit redline 1st to 2nd but in others they have gone all the way to redline, not sure what’s going on there.
The thing with the buttons lining up with the displays above them is that makes sense when looking straight at the display (sitting directly in front of it) but is much harder to line up when sitting off to the side and in the dark, it’s just guess work - and this is something you are trying to...
Features on Demand seems to be one of the reasons why VAG have blocked access to the OBD2 port on all new models, normally you could just activate all these features within a few minutes using an OBD2 tool (as long as the required hardware was fitted)
Isn’t access to coding via OBD2 disabled in VAG products from MY20 onwards? I know it is with Mk8 Golf, thought it was the same with 8Y Audi - unless you have dealer access?
Yeah, the S3 is a weird one, especially with the way the R has been developed with the 3 (potential) engine specs, you’d think the S3 would be in the mix somewhere.
Rumours are a slight power increase to 415hp for the standard model and a possible performance model with 450hp. Hopefully we should see something soon.
It really shouldn’t be too hard to get more power, even a basic Stage 1 will give a significant increase, depends if they “want” to, and what...
And the other thing, how often does this “normally” happen, I’m guessing this perhaps wasn’t his first and it maybe a lot more prevalent in the industry than that.
Just came across this video of an S3 Sportback in black. I have no idea what these guys are saying but think this looks really nice. I like the look of black cars but they are a nightmare to keep clean, but could be tempted by this. There is a shot on the freeway around 4.40 which looks good...
