Thats cool mate. Thanks. I'm thinking about doing the timing belt too at the same time plus clean the valves and might as well change the coil packs and fuel filter. Would u know of a place in the UK where I can purchase the parts from? I live in Aus and here they charge us like wounded bull for...
I noticed today that's its doing it even with AC off. Basically if I cruise for a while then it dips below 90 and comes back to 90 when in traffic or short distances between lights. When ac on the fans kick in and they turn off when in ECO mode of off. So if anything it might be the thermostat...
Stick to stock DV. I'm actually running the oem rubber diaphragm one and still going strong. I got a rev d sitting around but it causes a back fire so prefer the original.
Had my cam follower replaced after 50,000 km. 5000 km on stock, 35000 km on stage 1 apr and 10000 km on stage 2. Mine looked better than the safe one (one on left). Have not checked the new one. Been there for 10000 km on 2+. It all depends how u drive and how much boost u request on daily...
Got APR2+ and I'd also say no. The single piston fronts can't cope too well with increased power. Running ATE PREMIUM ONE FRONTS and ATE stock rears with Zimmermann pads all round. Ok for the first 5 min of twisties then a bit too soft.
Hi guys,
another thing I noticed today on the S3 8P. I was cruising home this eve at 80 kph with AC set at 21 deg with outside being 26 and noticed that the temp gauge was reading slightly below 90. It went back to 90 as soon as I stopped at a traffic light then did the same after I took off. I...
Immo coil? Not sure what that is. From doing some reading and checking parts it seems I need to replace the puck that sits behind the ignition key. So it's not the ignition barrel but the bit that receives the signal. Here is a link to that part. Am I correct?

Hi guys
So pretty sure my ignition switch is playing up. Nothing serious but thinking about having a go at it myself. Any DIY around for an A3 8P? Tried the search and the net but no luck. I understand its pretty common so hoping someone can direct me to one. Much appreciated.
hi all
Something changed about how the car is turned off. Previously I turn off and the car the interior lights stay off, doors still locked and I can still use the Bluetooth to talk while key is still in ignition. The interior lights turn on, door unlock and bt is off when I remove ignition...
As some are aware, Ive installed an SRE clutch with a new DMF and Bilstein PSS10s coilovers. Both have been performing great (kind of). Done over 2000kms so far (Spoke to Sachs and they recommended 1000km break in). Took it very easy for first 1000 then did a few mins of hard driving
two days...
Thanks again mate
Well so far so good. Only issue remaining is the vibrations I'm getting at 2200 rpm while doing 60kph and on 4th. Il try the same set up front and rear on the coil overs though doubt that will fix it. I reckon it's the subframe bolting, I'm especially suspecting the dogbone...
Sorry mate, but what is exactly "taking it easy"? I'm assuming definitely no launches, no hard take offs, no full boost, how about the normal day to day driving (normal traffic light takeoffs) and accelerating to overtake etc? I'm a bit nerveous and want to get this right. I also normally blip...
Time for an update. I dropped the car last Tuesday and picked it up on sat. All went smoothly in terms on installation. The SRE clutch and dmf fitted like factory according to the mechanic, the bilstein pss10s installed and the hawk pads were replaced with zimmermann. Driver door adjusted and...
Hi Guys,
I have already purchased the SRE Performance Kit which fits the LUK Dual Mass Flywheel. I'm running APR Stage 2+ and not planning to go any further in terms of power. My initial worry was that i received the wrong clutch plate as there are no spring dampers built in but I believe it is...
