Big favourite of mine is harly wax, stupidly easy to use and longevity of it is very very good. Citca £23 per tin I like to pop it on top of a good sealant like finishkare polymer sealant.

Add a good sealant will help to protect ure effort for a longer period of time. I use a ph neutral autobrite shampoo to help aid longevity of products I use. I would get into the habit of using a quick detailer to top up and aid longevity. I personally am not a huge auto glym fan but results...
I currently use the menzerna powerfinish range which on german paint I find really rather good, I have 4 different grades from abrasive through to fine.

I think a lot depends what you level you want to go to and whether that includes machine polishing and whether you want to also include any wet sanding to remove any orange peel which might be present .... the better you get the paint to start with the easier your life will be in the long run...
If you keep the panel wet, the claybar folded every time its dirty, I have never had an issue. I only clay when needed, and tbh if u clay u should really polish and wax after anyway.

Wax now probably 2 times per annum
Seal when I hard wax...
The reason being to make snow foam work effectively you need a pressure washer, a hose off a tap will not work correctly.
Product wise ... its more personal preference but I would have to say I am a big fan of autobrite products, find it very easy to apply and remove with cracking results...
