    Cleaning a headlining

You think even the hand tool would be too much? You control how aggressive it is with that really.

    Cleaning a headlining

You could rent a rug doctor from your local Tesco depending on how dirty it is. I went halves with someone on it for 2 days, one bottle of detergent was enough to do 2 cars and 2 houses worth of carpet and I still have detergent left. Brilliant things have rented them about 5 times over the...

    Steam cleaners

I'm no expert but my dad is a plant fitter and they always used Steam cleaners to clean both the engine and body work since they got so caked in oil. I know they likely don't care as much about the paint work of a truck but I doubt they would use something if they were aware it would ruin the...

    Detailing advice

I'm hoping to tackle the car again soon after our recent trip to South Wales and covering over 800 miles she is looking rather manky. After my last sort of failed attempt at removing defects I'm going to have a go again but just do 1 - 2 panels rather than trying to do the whole thing in one...

Best wax for metallic silver car?

I previously only used mega quick wax so can't really compare many products but I recently used FK1000P for the first time and I live it. Great shine, easy on and off, cheap and it's been on for nearly 4 weeks and still beading well.

I used green hex logic pads at speed 5 of 6 on the das 6 pro. I've got ultimate compound and menzerna heavy cut 400 here too but not sure if they are too heavy. I'm assuming if I used any of these I'd need to use a finishing polish afterwards or would the S20 be ok? I did read on detailing...

A bit disappointed but was also expecting this. I checked the car over last night and it's still swirl city. I think my problem are caused by a few things, too much polish at times, not working it long enough and possibly clogged pads. I think rather than attack the while thing again I'll...

So I forgot to get before pictures I just wanted to dive right in and I only have a few quick photos. Ignore my ornamental weed garden and one silver wheel!

Well the deed is done, going to have a check of the swirls when it gets darker as it's quite difficult to see. I'm pretty sure they are still there but probably a lot less. I am done in and my back is.broken! Enjoyed it though! Some of the scratches appear to have almost disappeared but the...

That was quick! No flies on you! So should I just concentrate on the likes of trim, rubber seals, headlights and leave the rest?

    Detailing advice

Well it's been a hectic few months, new job and all sorts of other crap but I've booked Wednesday off to attack the car. It hasn't been touched since around October so it's pretty nasty. I'm going to hopefully break out the DA for the first time if the weather stays on my side and just want to...

Is It 'Safe' To Wash Your Car With Fairy Liquid ?

When I had my first car I used to clean it every Friday after work. One day I had the bright idea of squirting the FL straight on the body work. I ended up jet washing for hours! Suds were just coming from everywhere!

What Detailing / Car Care Products Have You Bought / Ordered Today?

Got some fk1000p delivered, the tub is huge, looks small on the pictures. Was going to try tj's wax but I've had my mind set on this for a while so thats the next purchase to compare. All I need is time now but sold out on ebay, car hasn't been touched since October!

    Best Polish and Wax

Depends how far you want to go with it. I'm no expert and new to this myself. I bought a megs kit from Halfords plus a few other bits and got reading up on the correct wash method. I've since bought a da polisher and a load of other bits but not got around to using them yet. If you want to just...

Cheers I think I'll give it a go, reasonably priced for a large tub and has great reviews. The price of some of these waxes is insane!

Didn't get a notification for these replies so only just seen them. Will weigh up the options and attempt to decide on something been reading good reports of fk1000p but I've got the megs quick wax to keep me going. That's what I'm using at the minute, meguiars quick wax but I assumed that they're must be a trade off having something so quick and easy compared to a paste or liquid or people wouldn't bother. Am I right or do I have it all wrong?!
