Williams Racing waterless wash & wax

Just watching a promotion for this on shopping channel. Does this stuff work without damaging the surface of your paintwork? How can you rub something into the bodywork without first removing grit and dirt? And if it’s so effective, why are we all wasting our time with our two buckets, snow...

    Best snow foam

I’ve tried Auto Finesse Avalanche and ValetPro ph neutral. In both cases neither seemed to cling for very long, but the problem I have is that using snow foam makes my jetwasher pulse rather than deliver it in a constant stream. I’ve tried varying the strength of the mix but it still pulses...

    aqua wax

I agree with S3_TDI. If you're going to all the trouble of clay barring and polishing, you need a decent wax to protect the finish you’ll have achieved. Aqua wax is just to top up the shine at each wash. I’m no expert on quality wax polishes I’m afraid and it’s all very subjective anyway. My...

    aqua wax

I apply aqua wax after rinsing off the shampoo. The paintwork must be wet for it to work. You just spray it on the wet surface and wipe off with a micro fibre cloth. When you’ve done the whole car, the paintwork will be slightly dull but the aqua wax will have dried, so you then just finish...

    No Swirl Mark Wash

As your vehicle is brand new, some would recommend a decontamination treatment before you wash, polish or do anything to the paintwork.

    No Swirl Mark Wash

The variation in methods and products will be infinite, but to get things started here’s my regime: AutoFinesse citrus pre-wash. Agitate with detailing brush then jet wash off after 5-10 minutes Pro Valet ph neutral snow foam. Jet was off after 10 minutes or so. Auto Glym conditioning shampoo...

    Gyeon Wet Coat

Well each to his own, but thanks for answering the question. I can substitute Wet Coat for Aqua Wax to give me a short term shine, as well as the all important water repulsion. I’m definitely going to give it a go

    Gyeon Wet Coat

Yes, but that doesn’t answer my question. Thanks anyway.

    Gyeon Wet Coat

Just discovered this product on YouTube and would really like to try it. My cleaning regime finishes with AG Aquawax which dries the paintwork and polishes it at the same time. The wax lasts 2-3 weeks which works out just right for the next wash and coat of Aquawax. My question is this...

    Valet Pro citrus pre wash

I use a spray bottle. I find the roof and bonnet don’t need treating, so it’s the sides, tailgate and rear bumper, front bumper and wheels and about half a litre usually covers it. Never thought of using a pump spray but I might give it a try next time. Mine is 3 litre capacity.

    What shampoo

I've used AG shampoo conditioner ever since I got a supply with the AG Lifeshine application on my Audi. It does the job perfectly well for my requirements. I ran out once and used Zainos instead on the recommendation of my local detailer and was very impressed with it. Once the Zainos ran...

    Cleaning convertible roof

Taking delivery of an A3 cabrio within the next few days. I've read and been advised different ways of cleaning the fabric roof and have no idea which to adopt. Could I ask the experts on this forum for guidance please. For background, the car will be parked on a driveway under a pine tree so...

New car detailing - Nanolex si3d - is £495 worth it?

I'd happily pay the prices you guys have been quoted for detailing. I live in Hampshire and was quoted £650 + VAT for applying GTechnic quartz something to the body and wheels only of my new B9 A4 Avant. That would include the cost of any correction needed to the paintwork, but from a cursory...

Show Us Your Snow Foam Pics

AutoFinesse Avalanche. My first attempt at snowfoaming. It didn't go on as thick as I would have liked, but maybe that's just adjustment of the lance. I watched a YouTube video a few days ago by a professional detailer. He said that snow foaming is a bit of a waste of time and that the...

    Contamination...

So are you just going to wax yours, Kestrel? I've had mine a similar time to you and I'm weighing up whether to have a coating applied or just wax it (after decontamination) and maintain the wax protection on a regular basis.

What Detailing / Car Care Products Have You Bought / Ordered Today?

Bought some Auto Finesse Avalanche snow foam to test out my snow foam attachment (see thread above to read about my experience). Car wasn't desperately dirty but it had tiny dots of pine sap which make dust from the atmosphere stick. The snow foam loosened it nicely.
