Prior to the oil consumption issue, my timing chain failed just as I had come off the motorway and was stationary at the lights. I was told by Audi that I was extremely lucky, because if it had failed whilst I was on the motorway, it would have been a complete new engine, costing me £9k. Off the...
Are they still not recalling? I suppose it’s a mass f up, so they are trying to save money wherever they can. Particularly after the diesel scandal as well.
I got caught up in the whole issue in the early days when Audi were denying it. They peed me around something chronic and it was only...
I’m guessing you bought the car not knowing it had been chipped, it was returned to its original performance prior to you buying it and as you say, you were informed that the repairs were completed prior to purchase.
It sounds to me as if you are getting the run around. I would go back to Audi...
I paid for the test and the repair, but that was back in the day when all this was kicking off. If any Audi advisor doesn’t know the issue, they’ve either got their head stuck up their own a&se or they’re new to the business.
Foolishly after I eventually negotiated the refund for the rebuild...
If only. I wouldn’t have been less disappointed with the car if I did drive it like that all the time.
I received multiple £1000 bills for things going wrong way before the engine issue. The timing chain failed within the first year of ownership. Luckily at the lights otherwise that would have...
As luck had it, a different car became available for sale, so I got shot of the pile of ****.
At the time, I would have been happy if one of the technicians accidentally dropped their lit cigarette but down the fuel pipe. I did suggest to the sales manager that he could do us all a favour by...
I knew mine was going to fail so just for good measures I drove at least three junctions of the M4 in fourth and fifth gear. That sorted it out!

I’ve always said the worst car I’ve owned is my S-Line B8 Avant and the best is my cab, even over and above our current V6 S212 which I have no issues with.
The problem is the cab was supposed to be a 2 year stop gap, but it’s turning into a 6 year plan. I love it, but the boys are getting...
Unfortunately not everyone knows about the oil issue. My car broke down due to it and I had to get relayed from Wales back to Berks. The AA mechanic and relay driver didn’t know anything about the issue.

Yeah the general consensus is that it should be repaired free of charge, but Audi still seem to be trying their luck on occasions by not agreeing to pay if it doesn’t have a full service history. So make sure you check all the paperwork is in place properly.

There’s tonnes of info here. http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/2-0-tfsi-known-oil-consumption-problem-2015-ongoing-thread-2009-2011-models.237270/
It’s the 2009 to 2011, not 14.
I don’t believe the 3.2 has the problem because the 2.0T replaces it.

09 to 14 plate TFSI’s have potential oil issues due to defective piston rings (mainly 2.0T’s). I would check to see if it’s had an oil consumption test before contemplating.

Years ago when my Laguna went in for repairs the insurance company provided me with what looked like (in the dark) an orange Cinquecento. The next morning I woke up to find a glow coming from the front window...it was actually salmon pink!
The most expensive courtesy car I’ve had was an...
I can't believe Audi still have the audacity to only offer a contribution with the amount of cases in hand. Surely they should have conceded by now.
