All down to personal preference, if you know it will drone but don't want drone doesn't sound like this is for you, could change for different backboxes or different exhaust or just change the tips if it's purely for looks.

No experience with a b8 specifically but they're generally relatively easy to swap, rear trim and wiper nuts can sometimes be a pain to remove but it's certainly something worth stabbing at yourself. Something like the following (unfortunately wrong language though) Wiper delete videos will...

That's a good point, realistically the only way to stop it is selling the car or parking it somewhere they can't drive away from or totally changing all the exterior locks which can be opened and ignition barrel (or just the one for the ignition barrel maybe unless it's keyless go in which case...
