So it seems the offset is quite different - looks like they...
You need to inform DVLA and your insurers. DVLA via your V5C (registration / log book). From the DVLA website:
Complete section 6 on the V5C.
Sign section 8 on the V5C.
Get the buyer to also sign section 8 on the V5C.
Give the buyer the completed V5C/2 section.
Send the V5C to DVLA, Swansea...
Definitely contacting dealer is first step. But it would seem they are either dodgy or just incompetent cos any dealer worth their salt should have done checks themselves...
I joined in 2008 after getting my first A4, then had to sell up in 2010 due to moving abroad. I'm moving back in 2 weeks and have a shiny new (to me!) A4 waiting for me - looking forward to getting back behind the wheel :-)
