41 in 40 limit speeding ticket

Don't think the parallax thing will wash. It's your responsibility to monitor your speed. They don't care how you do it. If you misread your speedo, it's irrelevant to them - you're still speeding.

41 in 40 limit speeding ticket

There's no leeway in law. If you're speeding, you're speeding. Many speed cameras are set up to provide the 10% leeway so that accuracy of the equipment involved is accounted for, but you can be done for anything over the limit. Might be worth asking for details of when the camera was last...

    Tailgaters

Quite... I do wonder when I see some of the "jokes" around this in here whether I've woken up in the 1950s or something...

    Tailgaters

Trouble with rear dashcams for tailgating is that the viewing angle is so wide, it makes the car not look all that close in the footage.

Ah, strawman arguments now? You're getting less credible by the second :P

Clueless driving (thread split from 8V)

Yes, but it's pure selfishness making that statement, not logic or reason. If driverless cars significantly reduce accidents, congestion and pollution, your personal pleasure that you get out of driving should not even come in to the equation. Same as hunting - I don't care how much pleasure...

Maybe you should concentrate on driving instead!!

Anecdotes are not evidence, as any scientist will tell you!

I do 18,000 miles a year And all these people speculating about assist systems causing driving skills to be lost... I'd love to see your evidence for that! I use the assists when appropriate to do so, and always as a backup. If people want to misuse them in some situations, then that's their...
