The 2 wires are trigger wires for the headlamp shutters, on the golf the connected into 2 pins on the body control module, again if you order the kufatec harnesses they do give you a sheet of paper with colour photos where to fit them.
I've never looked at the kufatec website at the audi harness. Did buy my original stuff from carsystems in Poland and then got kufatec harness, they do come with instructions where to stick the 2 trigger wires. kufatec also did sell a box which plugs into the obd port and this changes your...
Just had a look and the bytes that may have to be changed and i say may are byte 14 check bit 3 and the code is 08...byte 15 bit 3 and bit 6 checked and code is 4c....byte 17 bit 2 checked and the code is f7...byte 24 and bit 7 checked and code is e4....they are all concerned with bi-xenons...
Well usually someone will have done the retrofit before and will know what bytes to change in the long code. Ross tech website have a retrofit section the answer may be there. If you have genuine VCDS you can register and ask on the forum. On a golf it's usually byte 18 which controls the...
I do know these guys in Glasgow can do that MK6 golf above retrofit with no trigger wire from the harness to the BCM, by using their own harness and the original BCM that came with the car. http://www.ultraxenon.co.uk/audi-led-headlights.html
This retrofit was done to my MK6 Golf headlamp washers weren't fitted but the leveling system was. According to this link if they are fitted they must work. http://hazzydayz.com/genuine-vw-golf-mk6-xenon-headlight-upgrade-174-p.asp I did have an MOT with no issues.
Parts that may be required are...
You'll have to poke about your unit, cant remember what buttons to press and it'll show you the software version on the screen. Mine was RMC and has to be updated by Audi at the cost you said, £500ish
Long shot but if you can access the connection plugs to all 3 sensors, pull one plug at a time. If you pull a good one it will/may throw up another fault code, so do another scan and check.
I'm taking it i had that engine in my mk6 golf gt, no problems whatsoever. That was me travelling a mile to work and back, with some good runs between. I've also had 3 leon fr's and a mk6/7 gtds and never a problem. Did have an ST for 6 weeks brilliant except for those recaro seats...sore back!
Looking at the pack the guy sells on ebay i would think that, that's probably what you would buy from audi then they would activate it? i know from vw say on a mk6 golf with the rns510 that if you wanted the latest maps and you had an earlier version that you had to go through each update till...
I've confused myself, i haven't got sat nav to begin with, didn't spec it! so it would be an audi job to install and activate it in the first place, Is that right?
I've contacted Julian also as to updating the sat nav, says have to wait till i get my car then post him the MMI version. So i'll take it from there. Had a look at that thread Richirich37 hopes it easy to install.
