Since you can't judge speed and distance from light andthe lights actually shield the vehicle from view somewhat (i.e. the eyes are drawn to the lights), it's hard to tell what's approaching when people think they've 'looked' when it's actually a glance.

I've got them on my S4. They're there purely for a purpose. Before fitting I was worried about the looks but now they're on they're fine. Despite the car being red and the flaps black, no ones at any car meets has ever noticed them.
