Had the S3 on ramp today because the traction control light is permanently on... I knew why it's the Haldex plug has completely corroded and the pins have come off inside the plug connector. Can we cut the plug connector and resolder the wiring together? Without any issues? Thanks

Its definitely the screws that cause the corrosion. It'd replace them all before yours goes the same.

I agree, it can wreck what is a nice car. It happens fast and is costly to fix (paint) not sure about the rest of the parts. If I were to get another 8L S3 one of the first things I'd do is remove all screws and clean it and fit new screws.

make sure you buy or get someone to use the correct removal tool for the wiper arms or it will crack your windscreen.

I'm pretty confident it's your scuttle panel that's causing your leak if you remove both wiper arms and lift the scuttle the whole bottom of your windscreen with have slimed dirt pushing the panel up off the clip. On my case the passenger side was most effected.
