...sold my S3 today. Advertised it Saturday night, got a few calls and arranged viewings for tonight and the first person that came gave me cash and drove the car away. It needed 4 tyres and as a result he bid me down £400 (I expected to lose more) but overall, I'm happy with the outcome...

Andy and Ash, thanks for you opinions but you haven't really given me the answer to the question...should I assume you don't have FASH?? Following on from your comments (although I am still after the answer to the original question), why do all the motoring magazines recommend dealer history...

What is classed as FASH on an 8L S3? Should it have been serviced every year or as the service book says which is every 2 years or 19,000 miles (correct me if I'm wrong).

Defo something wrong IMO. I've never had a go with an MGZR but my brother did in his old Accord Type R, he beat that and I beat him in a drag race!

Mine was a squeeze (and that's with the radio manual and original breakdown cover booklet etc) but now it's been in there a few years it slides in and out a treat when needed. It's not done the leather any favours though!

TT is heavier which is why they only pushed out 210bhp in the early days of the S3. I looked at both and just didn't like the TT plus there are quite a few where I live compared to S3's. Having said this, I now see more 8P S3's than new TT's...bizarre!
