installing bluestooth car kit / taking dash apart??

[ QUOTE ] i would never get it fitted by a 'professional' my dad took his car to get one installed and they made a crap job. i'd rather learn how to do it myself and take a day doing it carefully! [/ QUOTE ] Agreed, same with ICE installs, I would always consider myself far more careful than...

installing bluestooth car kit / taking dash apart??

Ignition live at the head unit is dependant on the year of the car. Around 2001/2002 (may have been at the facelift), ignition on was a signal through the CAN-BUS. On later vehicles you will have to break into the fusebox switched live. Do a search in the ice forum, as AndyMac did a great...

    Fitting S3 seats

As all the plugs were included with the seats, i just ran power and earth cables myself and joined them to the power plug. Ran the cables down from the fusebox under the carpet along the door sill and across under the carpet to where the airpug plugs come out. The connection you want at the...

    Fitting S3 seats

The seats are grey full leather S3 items, and for the moment i'll leave the heating as I haven't had a good think about where to locate the switches. There is a thread in here regarding the blanks either side of the esp switch that would be ideal, but I don't think anyone knows any good OEM...

    Switches

[ QUOTE ] the other model switches dont fit - i tried lots, and the outer 2 buttons have offset curved edges so an esp switch doesnt fit either without substantial modification ie cut and glue etc. [/ QUOTE ] That's a major pain in the backside. I'd really like some on/off switches to go...

    Fitting S3 seats

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] hat would be a real bonus, I won't know until I've got everything stripped really. The other fortunate thing is that the seller included the car end of the loom so I have the S3 plugs if I need to do some on-the-fly rewiring! [/ QUOTE ] You should be carefull doing any...

    Fitting S3 seats

[ QUOTE ] also leddy i've just noticed your car is a 2002 spec, now i'm unsure what interior you've bought but guess it's an s3 one, in which case you might find you don't have any airbag connector problems that i had because later A3's have the same connectors as S3's, goodluck with the change...

    After market sunroof??

Also worth considerinig is the reduction on headroom, check it out as it may be an issue for you. Don't know how much less you get in an S/A3 but on other vehicles, the difference can be considerable

    Finally got wheels on S3

[ QUOTE ] chucky said: £1300 I hope you got some great tyres for that price [/ QUOTE ] Don't forget Chucky, Tanya has invested in some quality rims, RS6 reps like yours and mine may look bling, bling, yet they aren't the highest quality items available. This is noticable by their weight...

Wanted! Pics of your A3 with Audi wheels!

Had it done at the same time as a re-spray on the bonnet. Had the front and rear lowers, sills and roof spoiler sprayed for £350 which I thought was fair. There's a thread discussing it here

Anthracite STANDARD wheels on black A3/S3?

[ QUOTE ] Drysdale said: I think RS6s would look great, as would RS4s. Im just not sure about my Avus's! (perhaps why not many have been done.) Just got a quote of £140 to powdercoat all four wheels in anthracite. May go for that. [/ QUOTE ] Are you talking about p/coating the entire wheel?
