    Rick doesn't have a dyno at his premises, my S3 feels plenty fast via bum dyno when he remapped it though. Off to dynotech tomorrow to satisfy my curiosity :)

    Have you tried Statller? They are on Attercliffe road in Sheffield, a lot of guys use them for tuning and although a Porsche specialist they also are very knowledgeable on all things VAG

    Sounds like a dead battery to me mate, could be alternator, duff battery or a bad earth connection meaning your battery is draining to the chassis

    Yes, after a couple of tanks the ecu will adapt the knock sensor to take advantage of the higher octane fuel. A couple of tanks of 95 and it will adapt back to that, with potentially, depending on the engine, a loss of power. It would not, however, 'remember' in the sense you mean, it will...

    Not just cost saving mate, your car would definitely not be running to it's full potential on 95 so why use it? (Not sure if my mpg is any better on the good stuff though)

    Not sure about all of your symptoms mate, but a spluttering and sluggish revving could indicate one or more of your ignition could are gone
