    sounds like limp mode mate. what boost are you hitting - and what engine, tdi, 1.8T, etc etc? Does it stay in no-power mode unless you restart the engine and bingo its working again? Limp mode fo sho :) You may be over or under boosting and the ecu is pulling the plug.

    4-18010 Power Supply Terminal 30 12v feed to the ECU may be corroded or damaged, thats the code for low power or power fault from ignition main feed to the ecu so your ignition switch could be to blame too.

    well, I would log any run thats likely to trigger limp mode mate, 3rd is the normal diagnostic run to do but you can save that then do a top speed run till it limps and compare them, looking for a difference between requested and actual for each run, as opposed to just differences between the 2...

    you need to vag com it for proper codes, most likely it was overboost or the maf is flaky. You need to log requested verses actual on maf airflow, fuel pressure and boost pressure amongst other things, the cause will show up. Start logging and do a 3rd gear pull from as low revs as you can and...

    also check for a blown fuse inside the ecu compartment mate. I've had this cause multiple sensor fails together and was just a fuse. Is the ecu nice and dry? If you have a blocked plenum drain it could have gotten water in somewhere maybe, or even a damaged wire from the engine multiplug harness.
