No I didn't think of that because I didn't think I could get the pipes back on because there is VERY little movement with them.
I'm live in Suffolk, near Bury St Edmunds
Quite update, I pulled it off again, I felt a bit amateur not completely taking it to bits and giving it a full multimeter resistance test.
Tested all wired from top to bottom and the resistance circuit board and watched the resistance vary as I moved the float up and down. Then put it all...
Is there anything else it could be?
I did exactly what you said, took the whole sender out, gave a real good look over all the wires (luckily there arent many) to make sure they where all still properly connected. Then had a good look at the whole float system, making sure the metal parts where...
Hey guys,
got a slight issue with my A3 at the moment. I didn't think the fuel guage was working properly a few weeks ago but now its gone wrong all together. I had about 25 miles left in it yesterday so I stuck a tenner in, and it went to about 30 miles. Got it down to 20 again and stuck in...
Ok thanks for the info AndyMac, I'm interested in the stealth sub, what sort of prices do these go for?
I also understand what your saying about the rest of the system, If I where to upgrade, I would do as much as I could to improve the system but what would you recommend doing first? The Sub...
Well, I went to do a quick £10 top up today and it was perfect! :D Didn't click off once! I was soo chuffed, and all it was was a bit of dried up crap covering the hose :)
Thanks for the advice. :)
Ok cheers, I'll take a look at some Alpine head units, I generally prefer the look of the sony, but if I can find something that's not too "in you face" ill get that :)
shame about rewiring though, that's going to be a pain :/
Hey guys,
I want to improve the sound quality from the standard system in my A3.
I'm thinking about getting a sony head unit as I had one in my last car and it was pretty good with sound quality, and it wasn't too in your face.
But what else can I do? Is it worth replacing all the speakers? If...
Found a load of dried up crap covering the breather hole today so I'm betting that has something to do with it! Can I poor that Auto Glyme Tar Removal down to unblock the pipe? Or will that react with the petrol?
Thanks for the info guys.
Have you got Facebook/Msn customboy? If you've got pretty much the same car I got several questions which i didn't wanna fill the topic with :)
Ok great thanks for the Info :) if anyone could match parts and product providers to the suggestions it would be much appreciated, Jetex seems to be a favourite filter, what about coilovers? I wanna put some ideas together with estimated costs for time being :)
Thanks JBL, I've tried all that, It's obviously something in the filler stopping it go down as quickly as it should, hence why I said maybe a filter or some kind, and as Danman pointed it, it may well be the breather pipe.
