Yes mate I too speak from experience. Believe as you wish mate but not everyone is taken in. Thanks!!
Please don't forget the people who have had this issue on their A3 and found they didn't have a clutch switch.
I was posting an opinion and because you stripped your engine doesn't give you...
The clutch switch is to disengage Cruise when the pedal is depressed. Don't be shocked if it doesn't cure the issue. A search will show you many people replacing it but not curing the issue. As with most on line discussions somebody reads a post on a cure and repeats the advice and quickly it...
audia3turbo. perhaps you got used to the AMD so when it was changed to Revo the difference was not night and day, indicating all this is subject to personal preference on power delivery. Please stop throwing in the judder part like it was the AMD map that caused it....I thought that was the MAF...
The corrosion you mention is very common, if it is on the piece that covers the lock assy. That piece takes about ten minutes to simply bolt off and is a very easy job to respray. If the car is the right price and everything else checks out, I would not let that put me off buying it. These cars...
The steering and clutch are heavier than a standard car and the suspension is stiffer so the the car doesn't absorb bumps in the road like the softer suspensioned standard cars. You get used to it but it does feel strange if you switch between vehicles like I do.
Seems a favourite of MOT stations. Mine had an advisory on this in 2008. Took it to be checked elsewhere and nothing wrong. Latest MOT went straight through no advisory. Wording was identical.
I don't think any paint is resistant to stone chips. Claims on paint thickness are perhaps to draw in business as the paint will be mixed to a certain viscosity to spray it. Was the respray done in water based or 2k paint? Stone chipping is nightmare and an ongoing problem with no real cure...
Not sure what you meant by that. Do you mean they can't prep and spray it for you? Obviously they can't prevent further chips and nor will they respray a stone chipped front bumper under warranty.
OP for the wing, this will most likely be a stone chip that has allowed water under the paint. I...
No master cylinder in mine either. Simply crap pedal design for what is a fairly heavy clutch. Mine has been done a long time now with no other parts besides the clutch pedal, bushes and plastic clip
My bumper looked like that. I bought a new product called Black Box by Turtle wax. Cleaner, wax detailer etc. all black. For a giggle I did the car in it. The bumper was transformed. Obviously not permanent but to sell a car. The stone chips were not visible any more. I am painting the bumper...
check the code on the sticker in the boot floor for the engine . It is likely to be a 210 not a 225. amazing how many think all facelift are 225 and they turn out 210. No disadvantage as they MAP like for like
The problem is the other way round. When you hold the unlock it puts down the windows. Nothing worse than going outside to find all your windows down and the doors unlocked, because you sat on the fob
I get the distinct impression that most garages charge more simply because you have an Audi. They know people will pay. Mine has 90k but I am about to do a major service including the Cambelt, water pump and tensioners (already done at 60k but you never know) I will also be doing the Haldex and...
If it helps. The master cylinder rod on mine had bent slightly when the pedal had broken. It is still like it but the pedal and clutch operation are perfect. So you may not need the master cylinder. The bend can occur as the pedal starts to give and pushes slightly skewed rather than straight...
If the clutch pedal is wobbly you didn't fit the bush back or the spacers.Mine was the same after I bought it. The previous owner had disregarded the bush and spacers and simply put the bolt through the pedal because it was easier.
Like most complex cars, if they go run the cost to put right will not be cheap. More so if you take the car to a dealer for repairs. An S3 is not like running a 1.1 fiesta and I would advise serious consideration before buying one. Make sure you are prepared to spend on it what ever is required...
The job take about 30 mins and is only fiddly as you are on your back in the foot well fitting it.Don't lose the bush or washers when you dismantle. Use a large screwdriver to prise the over centre spring back into position whilst having a helper depress the clutch. It's a straightforward fix...
