Cheers boys, no power in the garage so no option to trickle charge without taking the battery out every time. 540 A definitely the right power then? Too much like hassle to disconnect every time, think the reality is that I need to sell it, anyone want an S3?!

Apologies for starting a new thread on this, but have scoured the forum and can't find the answer... I don't currently drive the S3 much, it can spend 2-3 months at a time just sat in a garage, so I appreciate the battery is gonna have to be fairly decent...but I've had about 6 batteries...

I went for the £50 option this time I had my MOT, only later realised I'll probably not still have the car next year. I'm pretty sure I had a look and the paperwork implies it covers the car if I own it, but not the next person. Could be wrong though - good luck mate.

My S3 has now done over 100k, engine is great - replacing coils/anti roll bars/thermostat/alternator/battery etc is the painful bit! just be aware that the mileage will have taken it's toll on several components is all I'd say!

Does anyone know if the buttons on the chorus stereo pop out in the same way...then if anyone has any spares!

Cheers Maz, I grabbed an S4 unit a while back and hoping the buttons are the same, hadn't yet worked out how I'd tackle getting the buttons out!

I think it's resting on a bit of the old coil... This was done at an Audi maindealer...

Mines been like this for at least a year now - really annoying! Had it thoroughly investigated from the interior side and the chap found absolutely nothing. He greased every surface he could find (and most of my footwell) but couldn't find anything wrong. He was confident it was safe though...

Which bits are scratched? The flap beneath the stereo was replaced on mine before I bought it, so must be available from Audi...

I got mine at an Audi main dealer - wasn't cheap (£25 ish) but they fitted it for me for free, so i'm guessing it was a very quick job! Looked on ebay but the difference in price was minimal and I'd rather know it was a genuine one rather than some dodgy copy. I don't have a part number...
