Look on the Vagparts site there is a picture showing the fitting.

I got a set off these guys before and it just connected into the reverse light and even got the correct size drill and all with the set. Cost me around £80 and had 3 sensors with audible alarm. They now have a magnetic strip that fits behind the bumper so no...
I used to have the same thing in my A3 but opened the door and cleaned the little switch. Tried some WD40 at an angle first and it worked for a while.
Do a search as someone posted pics and insructions for this some time back, maybe last summer.
Don't know how it's going now as I've since...
Was the bolt tightened by anyone recently? Maybe they broke the thread? IMO it shouldn't be too difficult to repair as it just needs new threading unless the mount is actually broken. Bad luck, hope you get the car back soon.
Well guys sold the A3, was just too off with the cost for repair so I sold it as is and bought an A4 1.9TDi Sport for the same money. I have dropped a year but gone up a car size.
I had it and it was the coolant sensor also, but then again I ended up with a whole load of problems and not sure if they were related or were causing the light also.
As said above it could be anything to do with the engine, best bring it to the stealers to get it checked. I ignored mine and...
My car is still not ready and I'm currently driving a golf 1.4. Painful.
The dealer is offering me a 01 A4 1.9TDi 130bhp for 3000 with my own. I might have to go for it as the damage for repairing mine is 2500. Going to see it tomorrow.
He'll take the car as is and will cover the repair. So...
I have my A3 just over 2 years and the running costs are getting worse.
The car went into the stealers yesterday for a service and to check the engine management light on the dash (originally thought it was the coolant sensor).
Anyhow, I was told after several hours that there was a burst pipe...
I appear to have the exact same problem. After I got the first indication I added a little more coolant and it stopped. It's reappeared again now and when I stop the car the fan stays running for a while longer. Service is due anyhow so I'll get the stealer to check it out.
From the issues I've...
I have had the exact same thing, checked the coolant level and it looked fine. It's been annoying me this week. Think I'll put some water in before I head off this evening.
Another problem on my A3. The damned list is growing weekly now.
MikeA3, hey mate can you post some pics as I will be doing this soon, I've had two flat batteries from the door sensor thinking the door is open and it is beginning to upset me. If I slam the door a bit it seems to work but I'm taking the plunge and sorting it once and for all (I hope).
I have exactly the same problem of late, and I also got another flat battery as I didn't press the key fob until I was walking away from the car and lo and behold it was dead in the morning again.
I only noticed last night that the red light on the door doesn't go off at all and also when I...
If it's the dials then the speedo, rev counter and temperature go to zero. Mine was replaced under warranty and it has happened to a few others on here too.
Hope it's within warranty mate as I'm sure very expensive. I have seen some on ebay though.
