Un-Sticking Your TDi VNT Turbo Vanes.....

very well put Tom. Folks, what sticks, is the ring the actuator operates on, and it usually sticks in the full boost position with the vanes closed (well pointing to the hotwheel / exducer) - hence when you use MM to soften and absorb the carbon, you should be able to get the actuator arm...

yah wheels definitely needed. either multispoke, or something but not sure and funds limited at the moment, if a cheap set come up I'll grab em tho 4x108 is not so common nowadays. I stuck a set of avus style wheel trims on in black for now, not sure if I like em better than the steelies but...

    Quite urgent post!

have to agree, I reckon I lost a 3 year old 1.8T A4 to flush, it went bang shortly after and I never touched flushes again. they dislodge stuff you want dissolved slowly, and it can block oilways and the filter, as Aragorn says use a tdi oil with detergent and it will naturally dissolve...

Un-Sticking Your TDi VNT Turbo Vanes.....

yeah well on my AFN you could see the actuator drum upside down next to the turbo, a lever sticks out of its underside and thats the one you want to get freed and moving again. I did post pics early on of it somewhere on page one of the thread? Oh look a guy above has a good pic, the drum...
