    pop the cam sensor off and set tdc on the exhaust cam/timing mark. The disc on the inlet cam should be sat with the top edge of the larger slot being level with the top head face, assuming the tensioner is jacked up fully

    cam to cam timing incorrect, it gives an open signal fault as it cannot gain a reference when its looking at the sensor output

    That will be the cause of the EPC light. It's mounted in the ECU box iirc

    Id just throw some used cams in, saves messing, same cams from any 1.8t, from AGU, AEB, BAM etc

    yellow light will be level, or sensor failure. Red is pressure

    it'll be timing out. Check TDC manually, not with the timing mark, i bet the bottom pulley has slipped throwing it out

    What cylinder are the misfire codes on? that'd be my first port of call. The chani looks right to me, if you rolled the ex cam back like the picture itd just move the offset back instead of forwards. The difference of not having 16 teeth is much more than yours looks. No corralation errors? or...

    iirc you will end up with a hydraulic dampener and a mechanical tensioner. That's how they did it on the later passats I've played with
