Thanks for the info guys. I think the calliper has had its days, when I parked up yesterday I could smell the brake burning and it was smoking, even the alloy was really hot. New calliper it is then.

My rear drivers side wheel does got hit after a drive but I've checked and stripped the calliper and everything moves freely. Could it be something to do with handbrake itself?

Is the scratch down to primer? If it is, it doesn't matter what you try, it'll need painting if you want it gone completely. Any pics of scuff??

Tar and glue remover to get their paint off your car. 2000 wet and dry sand paper. Rubbing compound to start buffing away then some buffing polish to finish. A machine buffer would obviously give better results. Or if that's a bit much... G3 scratch remover.
