If it was me I'd get a replacement sump.. If they are stress fractures one good bottom out and you have no sump.. I done mine in on my tdi a few months ago and ended up costing a fortune to fix.. Dunno how much a sump costs over there but here they only around €80.. May well be worth changing...

18's on mine too.. Me personally wouldn't go any bigger but depends on the power ya have too.. Mine is 130bhp and I wouldn't put 19's on it.. If she was 160+ I would consider it
