Yes, I don't think you'd do it without removing it. Its quite straight forward to do.

Not sure what the 4 wires are supposed to do on the wiring to the coolant sensor but it appears that the connection 1 has 5 volts to it,,,,,2 & 4 look like they are both grounded and terminal 3 has 1.3 volts to it! Not sure if these are what I should have or not,,,,I have fitted the new sensor...

Is this just a massive coincidence? I've disconnected my faulty coolant sensor whilst I get the new one and the auto gear box has been perfect! Is there any way the four wires in the sensor could have effected the gearbox?

Hi there...I managed to get my new 4 pin sensor from Audi...thought a genuine one might last longer...but when testing it should I not get some sort of resistance readings between the terminals?

Good morning....would anyone know where I can get the plug that fits into the coolant sensor ( 4 pin) on an Audi A6 c5.. Replaced the sensor but the plug was brittle and feel to peices. Also was hoping someone might have a wiring diagram for the mentioned part too! Thankyou.

Hi, I've found a leak on the motor and it's coming from the filer housing,, this happened a while ago, I fitted a new seal and it's happening again!! Do u bed to replace the moulded filter cap to cure this leak, anyone had similar trouble.
