God it's been ages....
216k and still going strong, I'm sure loads has been done since my last update, but the most recent has been complete new timing gear and swapped out a couple of aux/AC pulleys which were squeaking. Get 42 MPG reliably for my local motoring, 45 on a run.
My winter...
What sort of mpg are you getting?
When I got mine I had to swap both coolant sensors and the thermostat before I fixed the running temperature issues. And it took a while for the mpg to improve again. Even now I only get 38-42 in daily use and never seen the 50+ that some people report with...
Same wheel swap and wash day one year later. Little has changed!
I have a new pair of headlights, wiper mechanism and door blades and a few other bits purchased. I will collect post-lockdown etc.
I sorted the wet carpet. The pollen filter housing was cracked. I'd like to get another one but...
Summer wheels on today, and a decent wash has cheered me up a bit.
Had to dry out the offside headlight again, I don't really know how the water gets in... maybe through the grommet for the HID's.I might look into sourcing another headlight. They need a buff up as they're starting to fade again...
So I noticed that my nearside rear foot well carpet is pretty wet.
I have previously removed the drain plugs from under the battery, and having recently regreased my front wiper mechanism I knew it was all dry in there.
My next thought was that the rear washer pipe which runs along the...
I presume that's X5 as in BMW?
The C5 has 5 x 112 wheels with an ET of 42 (ish) from the factory (not sure on the Allroad's offset?).
You'd obviously need to know the PCD and offset of the X5 wheels to know how they would fit.
Yes I still have them, they're holding up well and don't rattle or anything. I'd recommend them.
It's had new oil and also the linkage adjusting but it didn't help unfortunately.
It's annoying that I don't get on here anywhere near as much as I used to! That's life, hey ho.
October 2017 since my last update! :wtf:
Anyway, the car is ticking on ok - 192k now. Went straight through the last MoT and the winter wheels are now on. Will the Yokohama V902's ever wear?!
I had...
Your thread is as good as ever! The car looks so good I have to say, for the new RS's etc you can beat the C5 shape I don't think.
I need to change my drivers door latch as the microswitch is playing up. Did your ebay special come with the switch? I didn't see you changing it over in the...
Cutting back the lights is worthwhile, mine had gone very hazy and once it had been done the beam definition and dipped beam cut off was much sharper. It also makes the car look much more modern.
A quick Google search will reveal several DIY options, my local garage charged me £20 to do both...
Welcome to the forum.
A6 halogen headlights can leave a lot to be desired, most people opt to fit an HID kit, costs in the rgion of £50 for a half decent one.
I always buy mine from member T8ups

Then put the uprated halogen bulbs into your...
MoT yesterday, all passed with two advisories... front brake pipes and lower arm bushes so not too bad.
Given my LED sidelights were strobing at last years MoT I thought it best to change them for this years! I'm a bit fed up with LED's as they never seem to last very long. So I bought these...
I bought some clip in window shades this week, I'm very pleased with them. I've never been a big fan of dark tints on these colour cars for some reason.
I will do some better pics when it's a bit cleaner...
Where does the time go...?
Little to report really, 2 x Nexens were fitted earlier in the year. A change from my usual Pirelli's but noticeably cheaper and they seem to be a good tyre so far (summer months).
Car went into limp mode last week, no engine management light which troubled me a...
