Press and hold the window down button until it's fully down and don't let go for a further 5 secs. Do the same in the up direction and then repeat down and up again.
That should recalibrate it.
Sometimes they just need resetting. Drop the window and keep your finger on the down for a second or two longer than you need to. Raise it and hold it a second or two longer. Repear again just to be sure ;)
IIRC (it's been 6 years since I had a TT) this can sometimes resolve it.
I don't normally refer people on one forum to another but I think you really need to go on tt-forum.co.uk.
There's lots of experience on there.:icon_thumright:
Or you could come to the Heritage Motor Museum next Sunday for the TT annual meet.
Loads of people there who have changed their ARBs....including Wak.
Details on the tt-forum.co.uk
hehehe
It was filthy. No wonder you thought it was a different colour to Russells!
Even with the weekends gear and 4 wheels and tyres in the boot, the original suspension was still up in the air.
6 spoke wheels, OEM suspension, OEM shocks, black headlights. How times changed...
I had a TT. If I was buying now it'd be an S3.
The TT has a superior interior etc (same handling) but will depreciate due to the new model.
The S3 has already had the new A3 so prices have already been hit making it a better 2nd hand buy.
From memory it's simply a case of laying in the footwell, looking up, removing the bolts from along the front edge and one or two elsewhere. Not too difficult at all if you have a look.
Sorry I can't remember where mine was. But a question for you. Once you've seen the number, how will you know if it's stolen or not? It's obviously not the original engine so HPI etc won't help.
I moderate the TT forum. I know how sensitive people can be about it. As a former TT owner it never bother me. I simply don't care what others think about the car I drive as I bought it for me.
I was simply suggesting it's probably not the best recruitment pitch in the world.
p.s. "kure" above...

scoTTy unfortunately it doesnt look like there are many on here any way.

and comments like yours seem to keep it that way.
It's strange coz I thought you was on a mission to kure them here.
Ho hum. As a moderator of where they all hang out I guess I'll just carry on...
... and I thought you really wanted to get TT owners posting in here.
You're not really gonna lure many from TT-forum.co.uk if you continue to uphold this generalised caricature of TT owners.
It could be one of two things :
TT's have two tanks linked together and fuel gets pumped between them. If one of the fuel sendors fail you get the sort of problem you describe.
Otherwise it sounds like a dashpod failure but from your description I expect the sendor problem which is good news...
