Changed the battery in the remote and hey presto, it now opens the tailgate! So I also got round to fitting the Kuftec remote close mod I brought a couple of years ago to the tailgate and it will now close via the remote and door switch, happy days.

As Simon says ours are DPF ready but not fitted, In think its the 09 facelifts that got the filter and lowered the CO2 and road tax!

The face lift car has the DPF, ours are only DPF prepared. So even if you fit a DPF etc, your CO value will not get adjusted, ever. So there is no incentive to do it. I'm sure they could check your emissions at every MOT...... hang on a sec, they already do this! So if they are really...

I have an 07 3.0 TDi Lemans too and yes, its 1gm over the lower tax bracket, mainly due to not having the DPF of the later cars which are in the lower bracket. The V5 rating means nothing I'm afraid, its what the tax website states, in fact iirc, there are 2 .gov websites with 2 different...

What, I thought you had this sorted?! Well yes and no. The auto tailgate works just fine from the drivers door button and tailgate buttons but it will not open via the remote. I'm guessing its a coding thing, but the coding option is still greyed out on VCDS and VCDS shows no coding present...

There is a brightness setting in the MMi, have you checked to see if it is turned down to zero?

UPDATE: Fixed I brought a second hand master motor/controller, fitted it and hey presto it works like new. I did have a company take a look at the original units and 2 others that I had brought. The original master kept losing its coding as it was operating, they suspected a cracked circuit...

Forgot to add that the current status of the motors/clutches is HOLD, maybe that's why its so hard to close manually! I have performed a factory reset on them too with no change in their operation.

Ok, I have been looking at this problem again today as I have brought 2 second hand tailgate motors to try out. Still no operation from either the door switch, key fob or if the tailgate is manually opened, from the tailgate button. But via VCDS and output tests I can power the tailgate open...

Hi Zach I would suspect the wiring loom personally, seeing as when the coil pack was first moved the fault went away and did not follow the coil pack. Wiring faults can be tricky to find!

Yes, that has been checked as best I can. The boot will release and try to open about an inch, then fall back down, if I click the remote again it will open fully 50% of the time. But then its a 50/50 chance of it closing with then button.
