did you change the thermostat also when you did the cambelts. this is the usual reason that they never reach 90.The thermostat is next to the water pump and a belts off job to change. Have you also checked the fuel pump timing on vagcom just to see if its operating at the correct timing. Should...
Nope i left it on, i removed the heat shield and the exhaust off from the right side of the turbo and filled it until the foam came out from behind the blades. I was aware of the stuff getting into undesirable places so used it sparingly and only left it for an hour working the actuator and...
Just done the mr muscle turbo clean on my turbo this weekend and it deffo works, No hesitation anymore from sticky vanes. All in all it only took an hour and a half.
i havnt read all the thread and appologise in advance if this has been done, but when you installed your injectors where they pressure tested and shimmed to even out the pressure for each one so they where the same. I ask this as a friend of mine went through a similar issue of smoke and power...
will do. here is a photo of the plate insitu, its the silver band you see inbetween the egr and the pipe. Im thinking i should remove the vacuum pipe from the top of it and block it as at the moment im sure it will still be operating but there will be no gasses passing through
feel free anyone...
I believe i have stopped the noise now from happening it certainly doesnt do it now, i was having a hesitation when it came on boost and was trying to fix it, i fitted a blanking plate to the egr to remove it from the system to see if this was the cause of the boost issue and low and behold the...
i had this, i changed supplier for the leak off pipe and bingo stopped it. Cant help you with the cambelt sprocket, i watched for a while last belt change i had and can say the sprockets where taken off although why i cant say, maybe they obstruct the removal of the waterpump etc. Adamss24 is...
a remap or box is on the list but the flyweel is showing signs of its age and its in tomorrow for the mot and while its in a fettle up of the front suspension.will fund this and then when ready will boost her up.
I blanked mine off last night. a mate of mine gave me a plate a few months ago and its only reading this that reminded me. The egr pipe that connects to the inlet manifold has a larger connection at one end to the other, the smaller being on the manifold end so ive fitted mine to the egr valve...
I would check for a boost leak first as it doesnt cost anything. Check all hoses and connectors and maybe even the intertcoolers as these are known to crack also.
Whats the car like when you turn off the engine? The flap inside the egr prevents the engine juddering at switch off im told just wondering if there is any vibration.
cheers chris, luk flywheel and clutch is 650 from eurocar parts. will look into sachs but they dont do a flywheel i dont think just the clutch. will do some more research.
if you have access to a mityvac you can check the movement of the actuator and see if the diaphram is holding a vacuum. it will show you if you have a sticky vane. I wouldnt think that it could be sooted up as of the enthusiastic driving style.
Im going to try this to see. it makes sense that it measures the air intake temp after the intercoolers. so why in the maf also?my last fault read said air intake temp sensor fault but just put it down to me disconnecting the maf when driving? possibly wrong will get another scan.
Good to see your on the mend again, i was always led to believe that the air intake temp sensor on the 2.5 engine is built into the maf. Is there another? bet your dying to get back foer a road test.
so if there is no dump valve what is there to stop compressor surge because i dont think these engines do this as normal. Am i right in thinking that a diesel doesnt suffer from this as there is no throttle flap like a petrol engine. There is as said above a flap inside the egr valve. Any diesel...
