strong smell of diesel in and around the car

Hi, I've just come back from a road trip down to Venice and back- I must have covered 3000 miles in a few weeks. Since I've been back I've noticed a strong smell of diesel in the car when ever I've pulled to a stop, and also outside the car towards the rear. I'm a bit concerned to say the...

    technical details of PD engines

nah- I know it has a turbo! But thanks for the (only) response! What I was getting at was when you floored the Civic, there would be a varying amount of torque and power going through the wheels as you climbed the rev range, although I understand the Type R's power band could be desribed as...

    technical details of PD engines

Hi, I am a recent addition to the Audi clan, having come from a very revvy Civic Type R. I have moved to an A4 TDI 130. I've seen some nice posts on other forums re: the Type R, and have a fairly good understanding of what's happening under the bonnet as the engine is performing, and I'm...

MPG accuracy and playing fuel light bingo

Hi, just wondering how accurate the mpg counter is, and also what is the lowest you've got to on your "miles remaining" counter. I'm sitting here at my desk waiting to go home on a 50mile trip, and the "miles" remaining is at 50 miles. Is it worth risking? Bearing in mind I'm a stubborn SOB...

    what's it worth?

cheers for the response. It's actually a company car, driven by a Director, so I know it's provenance. The cambelt needs doing, but I've been quoted £280 for that, from an independant, which is better that the £480 Audi wanted for it!!! The interior is absolutely mint, and the exterior is in...

    what's it worth?

Hi, I'm a newbie here- I've just sold my Civic Type R for something more economical, and have been offered an A4 TDi 130 SE on a '51 plate for £10900 with 60k on the clock. Does this sound like a good deal? Advice please!!! T.
