16k on the clock standard car perfect thinking of going stage 1 remap. Can you tell us how much to fit the sachs clutch and did you replace the release bearing? complete price please.
to answer your question simply is buy one! they're ****** great! i've owned one for over a year and an little ford xr2 and both bring a smile to my face.
I'll post my bluefin to them shortly and get it done, they've never let me down in the past and after the golf well i didn't have any problems...lets see if they can remap my 1987 mk2 xr2 fiesta...ha ha ha
Spoke to them on the phone earlier and £237 for the bluefin firmware update and the map. Broached the subject of detection and he said i'd be very surprised if they could!
Superchips got back to me and they say that the firmware of the bluefin has now been updated to remap the later cars. My experience with using this device was GolfGTD needed glow plugs under warranty, obviously hooked up to the dealership.VW headquarters for diagnostics no issue as regards...
Well it's a mine field is the answer to your question some say they can be detected some say not. Some have maps with no clutch issues! after your post i checked the Superchips website and i'm not sure but they look as if they do a bluefin now for cars 14plate on...i don't think they offered...
Dealer was only interested in selling the gap insurance and the lifetime shine. Dealers don't care about the service department. I find it should be them to offer up the information when your buying a car. Every dealer i've bought a car from hasn't mentioned it.
Here's how they should conduct...
Well having had a quick look into it, it could be the friction material isn't up to the job, which in turn could have caused the slippage, hence the heat spots. I wouldn't pay for it either......other advice is buy a Mexico mk1 or 2 i don't care!!!
To create the heat spots you'd expect the friction plate to have a glazed(shiny) surface from video it looks ok but thats from video not seeing it in the flesh. That's my opinion i'm no expert, Ford storeman circa 1977.
Great to drive, plus you never see them. I was thinking tuning box but it's got enough performance for me. Only mod is a quattro badge on the opposite side from the S1. Even bought a proper one.
Ah so you broke the 1st one as well...kidding! got mine from new 1300 miles in 2 weeks....petrol tank with a volume of a thimble and the thirst of 10 tigers...love it! hope i don't have any clutch issues then.
