There are loads of different displays, meters of different types, scrolling messages (song titles etc) animations or just standard track info. They were very expensive initially. There is one going on ebay at the moment.

Oh, I see what you mean. A misunderstanding on my part. I thought you meant remove the fuse permanently and effectively wire direct to amp with no protection. When I had this set up on my previous car I wired to amp side before connecting to the battery to prevent me shorting anything...
