From what I have looked at there really isn't much gain in the VVT+remap other than slight notices, if you spent 700 you would at least tell yourself theres some difference. The real difference comes from a turbo and seems more realistic, but expensive. I keep thinking whether or not to mod...

No never got it sorted, they just didn't bother in the end - I'll dig up a few things from here that helped me, if it helps you let me know I am also in the mids, I even told the dealer a few of us from here would come to them but it had no effect - its crazy sometimes.

I did try with Stratford Audi but they weren't listening once it went beyond the "come in and let us diagnose" stage, its a shame independents dont have this software as they are the ones that care for customers with these sorts of needs, not the dealers

This is where it becomes much harder than modding an S3! A VVT attack and remap would be around £1k - this is for a DSG. Any remap will be lucky to gain more than 10bhp, even if you get 15 in real terms it will probably be much less. There's been a recent package launched in the UK...

I don't think an RAC check would be needed if its from a dealer, just make sure you take a good look around the car and test the gears, especially if its dsg. Also the usual checks service history, owners, etc The road tax initially looks steep, its about £250 more than the S3? works out at 24£...
