Hi
Does anyone know how the vwag camshaft sensor’s work ?
do they cut fuel to hpfp but not the lpfp when they fail.
At Subaru main dealer, we would unplug to cut fuel to prime new oil pump etc
does the tfsi cut fuel if cps is unplugged ?
Does it do anything else also to stop running of car -...
Do you know if the canmshaft sensor cuts the fuel to hpfp or could a fuelling issue etc have triggered camshaft sensor by excessive cranking after car cut out.
I’m getting 5.5v at the cps connector
can’t really test sensor itself without replacing
something is stopping fuel from building up...
Hi mate, do you mean the one on fuel rail under inlet or the return one inside of the fuel filter ?
Fuel filter is a few months old if that… fuel pressure regulator has never been changed by me as it is having rs4 one when unicorn does the next mapping for me- only thing pretty much not changed...
Got all these first scan but battery was already starting to go flat by then
But on the power connected, it’s had low voltage faults cleared and is coming up with static camshaft sensor and low fuel ones still and they won’t clear.
When I changed hpfp, releasing the pressure at valve, the rail...
hi guys,
I was driving round a slip road earlier and car just misfired and stopped completely.
Just got the car home…
have 2 faults still showing
fuel too low and
Camshaft position sensor
I have changed hpfp to a new one I have here and no change.
I then checked mvb 103 & 106 and my...
I think on these they go through a tiny hole in gearbox/block at 90 degrees with an Alan key that needs to be flexible almost and banana’d and is attached to the rear main seal, well just behind it
I’ll look at the manual in a bit to make sure as it’s been quite a while since I have done a 170...
It’s just I got so sick of driving with a half a blue roll on my door rest all the time when it rains
We’ll atm when doesn’t it rain … it drips down the door onto the ally trim and is starting to make it corrode plus the switches get soaked if I didn’t and I’m always getting wet when I go round...
Has anyone else had an issue with the moulding when manufactured, of the heko wind deflectors …
the issue I have is the passenger side moulding has,
(where the logo is at far back b pillar section)
Got what looks like an air bubble when moulded.
this doesn’t look as bad as it is in pictures...
Easy one today…
Fitting Heko’s !
car is filthy I know, it’s been off road for about a month or so again till last night for the transmission &4wd rebuild this time.
may clean later, tbh it needs it.
Something I didn’t know.
I am intrigued myself now unless you mean like when modifying to the high flow version of hpfp internals upgrade ?
That’s a good shout on awesome too… I forget they are in Manchester as to me it’s always mail order parts down south
Or superglue ;)
Na I’m just joking but it’s because the pcb is quite soft and is a really thin head on the 8v mount I bought from Ali express…
Slightly larger washers worked perfectly for me

Nice… unicorn is brilliant and if they recommend someone- I’d definitely use them 100%
I thought your guy did the checks on vagcom for you for pressure drop etc… that’s the one I was talking about posting on here mate
It is good tbf but if no problem before, I see where you’re coming from...
Alright mate
How did you get on in the end, I did mine yesterday and pressure bled through resivoir and return back to bleeder secondary tank.
followed Audi procedure -
It was pretty black and sunk to bottom that came out so did all lines to callipers in sequence and clear fluid now.
clutch...
Cheers matey, just thought I’d give encouragement for others to give it a try if they can you see
Just outside LDN and Surrey mate.
It’s not so bad when you get into the job, just take slow / make sure you use the genuine vw fitting tool (£8ish) and it’s pretty easy to do.
I at the moment would...
That’s what the pressure test I said to do in vcds was -to see If it was holding pressure ( hpf side under heat sink of engine when turned off, after reaching operational temp should rise and rise as I said before.
Both options could potentially fall but usually you get very petrol smelling oil...
Perhaps do one if you can mate with the lists of what led’s go where
Would be really handy for me when I make a start
