Agreed and also perhaps to help them keep their value a bit by making them harder to get hold of? They won't want to get to the point where supply is greater than the demand though so can see why they do it to an extent.

Not a problem for me personally as I get rid when they reach 3 years old anyway so anything that happens before that is covered under the warranty.

The ride is better in the S, the JCW is a bit more raw but to be honest I thought the ride was still as good if not better than my S-line. I like a hard ride anyway...
