Anyone else have S-Tronic (DSG) issues?

Well, got it back after gearbox no.3 and it's still the same. Dealer consulted with Audi UK again, who have now said that it's a characteristic of the gearbox! Funny that it co-incides with me passing 60,000. It also makes me wonder why they would have replaced the box twice (first replacement...

Anyone else have S-Tronic (DSG) issues?

Mine does do that - but describing it as "a little thud" would be understating it somewhat! Sometimes it will pull away normally, and other times it's as though launch control is activated - nothing for a half second or so then a big crunch/bang, and it's off like a scalded cat!!

Seriously? Is it really just me? :)

Anyone else have S-Tronic (DSG) issues?

LOL yeah it seems that way - funnily enough, one of the dealers actually said that to me. Both under warranty, and company lease cars anyway - although the current one is at 65000 miles, but as the problem started at 45000 they still have to fix it :D It's spent 28 days in Audi Centres this...

Anyone else have S-Tronic (DSG) issues?

Ok, some of you may remember my 1st 8P Sportback TDi which had to have it's DSG box replaced at about 10,000 miles. I now have an 07 2.0TFSi - which is waiting for it's 3rd (Yes, 3rd) replacement gearbox. Basically, it crunches when changing gear and going from N to D and D to N (But not in to...

How practical do you find your car?

Do what I did and rock up to the dealer with all the stuff you think you'll need to put in the boot. If it only just fits in, it's too small - you can guarantee you've forgotten something!!!! Dealer wasn't too happy about me wanting to try my bike in the back though, even though it was clean!!

Oil Service on 07 2.0T FSi

Hi all, My car (2.0T FSi) has recently started telling me that it will need an "oil service" - in 1,000 miles. Funny thing is, it's also telling me that 4,000 miles later - it will need a full service. So, I call the dealer and book it in for an oil service - only to be told that my car...

    TDI's dilemma...

Not many - it's averaged 28 since I have had it (10,000 miles) but if you whack it on cruise at 70ish it'll return 32+. Nail it around and it'll return less than 20 around town though. I have a 3mile drive to work - had to go in one night and did the whole thing at full throttle (more or...

    A3 Multi-function steering wheel - Hah!

I found out today - purely by accident, that if the stereo is muted, the right hand "No Funct" button un-mutes it... (You have to hold it for a while) Very odd to have an un mute function but no mute.

A taste of Audi quality to come?

Mine is exactly the same. Happens 2/3 times on some journeys - I personally think its the amount of water which floods the switches when you open the door or open the window if the car is wet. My windows also bounce all the time - this also causes the one touch to stop working.

    Flat Bottom Multi-function sterring wheel

If it's that obvious that the "scrolling" should be the way it is, then the DSG gear selection is wrong... Either up is up or up is down, but not up is up on one thing and up is down on another. Confused.

    Sore arms from buffing !

Thing is you need to remember different products do different things - polish for example generally does not need to be left on the panel, where there are a lot of waxes/sealants that do require some time to cure before being buffed off. Make sure you have plenty of good quality microfibres to...

    MFSW controls not responding

Anyone have an issue with the MFSW controls for next/previous track not responding? Sometimes, I choose next or previous and nothing happens... then a few seconds later the track changes. Or, I'll think that maybe I didnt click it properly and click it again, then it moves 2 tracks. Seems...

    SE handling

I actually think they have softened up the S-Line suspension since 2005. My car now seems softer than my 2005, although that was a TDi so the spring rate at the front could have been higher. I have no complaints about the suspension set up - I actually prefer a hard ride than a soft one (oo...
