My old S3 had a unicorn stage 2+ and seemed to run out of ideas (engine power vs air resistance) at 163 mph GPS speed. Could have maybe wring a couple more mph but 190 would likely require a downhill gradient.
This was on an autobahn so perfectly legal
Ricks based in Stockport, Google unicorn motor developments for the website or contact him on the forum here as he's one of the sponsors. As for price it depends what you want as he does some enticing optional extras like launch control and flat shift. His prices are very reasonable
Totally agree with warren_S3. I have a unicorn custom map on mine. At stage 2+ it's 350bhp which is on the lower end of what you would expect but with a massive torque figure and a good progressive profile it's still a seriously quick machine.
Ricks service was second to none when the map was...
What he said, I had the same issue at 70mph plus, even when driving straight and stay. Turned out both front alloys were buckled, fortunately replaced under warranty
It's more noticeable when the engine's cold and you can hear it inside but it won't make a nose when the clutch it's engaged, only disengaged. When warm you won't really hear it. For stage 2+ power you can get away with a DMF but if you enjoy the odd launch a SMF is stronger.
It is a bit clattery, more so than OEM, and a little heavier on the clutch pedal. Then again, you don't get nothing for nothing and it puts the power and torque down solidly with no issues
I have a 550nm Sachs organic clutch (they also do a 600nm sintered metsl version) with a Loba SMF which I got from GNJ, one of the site sponsors. You also need to account for a new clutch release bearing, OEM part about £70ish
My indicators seem to be having an issue, for the last six months or so. When the ignition is turned on (not always) I get a bulb out warning in the left or right (or both!) indicators. If I put the indicators on that side it clicks rapidly a few times (like a bulb is out) then flashes normally...
