Well that would have been a job worth doing even if I hadn't put the wrong fuel in!
The old fillter came out black!
I am a little shocked that these kinda things are not changed at every service, the car is a 06 plate and has 40k on the clock.
It has always been serviced by the main dealers...
The unleaded did taste like ****, but not salty luckily!
There was only about 20miles left in the tank when the unleaded was added.
Might pick up a filter just to be safe. Where are they situated on the car, it it on the pump under the seat?
Thanks for the replys guys.
Do you think changing the fuel filter is needed?
The missus would have done 2 days of driving to work in it on 98% diesel by now.
If its a good idea then I'll get a new one straight away.
I am still kinda kicking myself for starting it really, but needed to get it off the forecourt to empty the tank and back again to fill it back up!
It was less than 100yds and pretty much at tickover rpm.
I was gonna offer the unleaded to a mate but figured that is probably contaminated with...
Yesterday I did something for the 1st time!
What an idiot - £30/20L of Unleaded in the Audi 1.9 Diesel :keule:
Dunno what i was thinking but after 20yrs of driving I made the fools error!
Anyway drove the car 100yrs to the car park opposite, got the missus to come out with 4 empty cans, hose...
You'll need it reset mate sorry, I did exactly the same when I fitted a Parrot kit. It stores the fault code as soon as you switch the ignition on.
****** cars are too clever for their own good!
:sorry:
I Have just fitted these to my car.
Mega thanks to a very helpful and friendly forum member who helped me to re-code the car for the new lights in exchange for some alcohol as payment :icon_thumright:
Amazing the kindness and generosity of some peeps giving up time on a weekend to help out...
Done loads of searches but none actually explain what coding needs to be changed in Vagcom.
Got lights - Looms ready to fit, but don't wanna fit them until I know what coding changes to make?
Will do mate - just ordered the adaptor looms from Kufatec, hopefully they won't be long:ermm:
Might photo my progress from beginning to end and do a retrofit guide for the FAQ section, don't think anyone has done it yet so might be helpful for some peeps??
Yep Lee_R is right, also used on the New Scirocco R as well as my mate has one with them on!
Personally I'd say they had been mis-described as so called "audi concept alloys"
Hope you get it sorted!
Hi All
Hope everyone had a great christmas.
I was happy to unwrap a full set of LED rear lights for our Sportback from my Brother-In-Law! :rockwoot:
Much better than the usual socks and pants me finks!
Just gotta get the Kufatec looms and find someone local to do the coding.
God bless...
Hi all
So the 1.9Tdi went into be serviced yesterday and came out with a "Confirmation of warranty work" form telling me that they have "carried out 35A8 campaign".
The missus said they told her this was a gearbox oil change.
Has anyone else had this or know the reasons why?
Car is a 2006...
We have just changed from standard sport to Eibach Sportline springs and all the spongyness has gone.
The ride and handling is much improved but no more harsh that the originals.
The boss :whip: says that she finds it better because the boingyness has gone and the car feels much more solid on...
I split the headlight on my Kawasaki ZX6r which has plastic lenses and body - with no probs at all.
The amount of heat needed to soften the sealant is nowhere near hot enough to melt the plastic itself.
Just keep a eye on it when its in the oven - Its not a cake and shouldn't turn brown:jester:
Typical! I have just done mine a thought I'd do a pic guide to changing them - Fronts were such a pain in the **** I gave up with the guide!!!
STampies tips....
1 = 2 people (pref male with muscles!)
2 = Spring compressors
3 = Ring spanner for removing top nut on fronts - Mine needed 21mm
