I'd get the headlight off and indoors to check for any other gaps/cracks it could be getting into. If it's on the back of the light get it sealed up with silicon. Also, check the caps are sealing properly on the unit. Whilst you've got it indoors ensure to dry it out too!

Just a quick update people. Jamie @ SP Tuning mapped the egr out no problem. He also did a performance map on it for me too! It's now running safely at 185bhp with 460nm torque :) I highly recommend him to anyone that want's work doing!

You should be able to see the nut spinning by putting your head pretty much on the drivers side headlight and shining a light at the pulley on the compressor.. Just please keep your hands away from the belt whilst the engine is...
Try clearing the fault code and then rescan a couple of days later to see if it's back (or even after testing the climate control afterwards).
Have a look under the bonnet and you should see the air con compressor. The clutch is built in, in the back so you wont be able to see this moving...
