Today i changed out the cabin filter..

so I will keep this thread running and update any changes to the s3...so I has issues with the haldex not kicking in..this has now been sorted. I had to change the pre-pump, filter and oil. According to the diagnostic the pump died. See below for pics! In with the new out with the old!

thanks to this forum makes it a much simpler process! does feel good though haha:racer:

all sorted now, not had the chance to fully test the car but can notice a different car was scanned and diagnosed with an issue with the pump. have changed it all over. hopefully this solves the issue!

thanks for the response mine is on a 58 place and is a facelift 8p dsg, think one of the very first ones, looking at the website i wasn't sure so this helps! looks like mine is a gen 4

thanks for the info, yes that is indeed pricey! i have the car booked in for diagnostics, hopefully its not the ecu and i can get away with a filter and pump change! i am gonna pull the 4wd fuse i think its fuse 19 in the dash and plug it back after a drive, iv'e read this has worked for some..

Oh wow does seem scary what power is yours rubbing? The website highlighter above seems very reasonable... When you say the controller do you mean the haldex ecu? Am I correct in saying the 8p comes with a gen 2 haldex?

Hi guys, was wondering if anyone can recommend a garage within west yorkshire, front wheels are spinning up - rear are not kicking in, checked fuses which appear fine. Car has had a new front diff. I have read it may be the pump? but would rather take it somewhere reputable. thanks in advance

Sorry for the delayed reply, i have been on holiday for the last few weeks, so before i went i picked up the s3, i have only driven it back (around 3-4 hours) no issues to report with the gearbox, i haven't been able to test it out fully as of yet however, its looking good. I will update this...
