The dsg is fantastic when driving hard but anything other than real commeitment and it leaves you lacking with poor gear selection etc. My mums new Golf GTi doesnt seem to suffer the same problem strangely....... DSG and auto are totally different and it is probably the torque in the 335d that...

Unless someone else knows more, if you want to remap the engine keep away from S Tronic. I loved the box but could not map the engine as the box just held it back. Also the standard car is a pain in traffic always in too high a gear. Cane them and they are great but in traffic you will struggle...

I had my S3 for 6 months. I was a September 2009 car and the dealer I sold it to advertised it as £500.00 more than I paid for it new and it has sold!!!!!!!

S3 is great but I sold a remapped 335d to get the S3 and miss the instant grunt of the mapped 35d. I must be getting old!

No problems with my Stronic, great gearbox. I wont get to find out long term though as the car goes 1st March as I'm going back to a 335d.

Yes. Had my wifes X5 geometry checked as BMW said all was ok. They were way out and BMW paid half toward the new tyres! Well recommended.

You can't remap the revised Stronic box yet. Believe me I have looked into that and even had Steve at Stattler check with GIAC in USA. No plans yet..... Even when they can, to be able to get decent results they have to increase the oil pressure within the gearbox to clamp the clutches harder...

I drive the same way in my Audi as I did in all of my BMW's so does that mean that all Audi drivers are jerks too.....? This BMW driver hatred is bull...t, there are plenty of idiotic drivers out there and I can assure you they don't all drive bm's.

Well put Spin140. Only someone who had knowledge of both cars could sum it up that way. The problem I have is that due to the restrictions of the stronic gearbox I can't map the car and get the results you manual guys get. My 335d was mapped and I always planned to map the S3 and it just isnt...

Why change the DV on a 2009 S3 which I thought had the newer and much better Dv from Audi which some guys have changed to from Forge etc?
