Thanks for all the help and interesting posts in the last couple of years.
Finally part ex'd my Black Edition for a new S3 saloon.
So for now at least I'm moving over to the 8v section, so here as promised a pic of my new toy.

Stick with a dsg they are worth the money (I think so)

Just had an engine replaced under goodwill gesture 90%.
All I can say is go to your local dealer and ask if they can act on your behalf.If not then contact Audi UK yourself and see where it goes from there.Just be polite you have nothing to lose...Good luck mate

If it was me I would get it checked out asap, if enough fuel get's in the engine oil it could lead to serious engine issues.

Yes the EPC and Engine Management light came on and also the engine just turned over and wouldn't start.I know it's not the same problem as you but the symptoms of fuel contamination in the oil are similar.
After having new engine fitted it failed again last week after 236 miles.
It turned out to be injector on cylinder 1 was stuck open.
The dealer replaced the injector free of charge and also replaced the engine oil as this was contaminated with fuel due to the injector flooding the engine.
